For Your Consideration-2010

I've already done my Top Ten Albums Of 2010, however, here are a few others that you should quickly become familiar with, very soon.

Richard Skelton-Landings
- I've only recently discovered this wonderful human being/musician, yet love him to bits. Haunting and beautiful. I don't care what sort of music you like, you'd be a fool not to like this. (This album is arguably 2009, depending on where you live, mind.)

The Jim Jones Revue-Burning Your House Down
I saw them play Dishonest John on Later Live With Jools Holland and was immediatly hooked, I went out and bought the record the next day; I thoroughly reccommemd that you do the same. Modern day The Faces in a blender with The Ramones and Elvis Presely. If 10 was a higher number then it would be in the previous post ( well actualy every album listed here should be in that list ).

Joe Bonamassa-Black Rock
-Read the review, scroll back a few pages.

Black Country Communion-Black Country Communion
-Not the best album, but a very good one at that. If you like your heavy rock, then this should be up for your consideration, if only for the amazing voice from Glenn Hughes.

Dweezil Zappa-Return Of The Son Of
-A seriously mind-boggling live album, that bears witness to some of the best musicianship, you've ever seen in your life. Playing a great collection from Frank's illustrious back catalogue, including the hilarious and genius "Billy The Mountain".

How To Swim- Retina (Or More Fun Than A Vat Of Love)
- Nine piece orchestral alternative band that sounds like The Clash's lighter moments with a bit of Pavement? If you think of this you probably aren't even close. Very nice to listen to.

Gonjasufi - A Sufi And A Killer
-Like nothing that you've heard before, I don't even have the album, yet have heard enough of it to say it is amazing. It should really be in the top ten. Funk?Pysch?Hip-Hop? Whatever I say, it can't be justified.

Big Boi Vs The Black Keys- The Brothers Of Chico Dusty
- A really fun - free listen, this costs nothing to listen to and you won't regret it.
Two great artists making a truly fantastic sound. A mash-up at its best!

RE-RELEASES OF 2010!

Iggy and The Stooges-Raw Power
-A true classic and anyone who doesn't believe that Raw Power isn't one of the greatest albums should go slap themselves around the face with a wet fish. Enough said.

The Rolling Stones-Exile On Main Street
-Do I really have to explain this one?

Paul McCartney And Wings-Band On The Run
-Truly fantastic. You cannot help but adore/admire this album. I heard it for the first time when my mother picked it up on Vinyl from Oxfam, and it is automatically one of my favourite ever albums!

David Bowie-Station To Station
-It's Bowie, so what to do you expect? Of course it's gonna' be great!

I KNOW YOU DON'T CARE, BUT I DO

Emerica-Stay Gold
-See review, flick back a page.

Blueprint-Make Friends With The Colour Blue.
-With an astounding soundtrack that sounds like a mixtake, it is very reminiscent of an old Zoo York Video. This video shows British (mostly) skateboarding at its finest. A true essential for your video collection.

Sidewalk Magazine-The Big push 2010
-Having taken the job from Document when they folded a couple of years ago, they never cease to impress. I-path won it this year and very well deserved (they got my vote).

Element Europe-Get Busy Living
-Showcasing European skateboarding at its best, great soundtrack coupled with amazing skateboarding, making the U.S big dogs step up their game. America, watch out!

Andy Evans-Heel Toe Magic
-This may be 2009, but never the less this is genius. It will have you laughing start to finish as Marc Churchill learns the history of skateboarding. You have to purchase this British gem, but whatever you do, don't open the freestyle room!

Habitat- Origin
-I have yet to purchase this, yet watched a bit of it in the Slam City Skates store in London. It looks great, the filming is very crispy and my few minutes of witnessing it, so does the skating.

Krooked- Krook3D
-I just watched all of this today and it's purely bangin'! Both in 3D and in 2D. The first skateboarding video in 3D and not only is the technology(?) off the charts, so is the skating. A pure must!

Slave-Radio Television
-The first video from Slave, and a contender for skate video of the year as it is very very very good. Every style of skating covered in this video. The editing is really superb! Why? Watch it you'll be surprised.

Gravis-Dylan Reider
-He's been my favourite (one of many) skaters for a while and this video proves my point. You will be shocked and be in awe guaranteed at the level of skating here. Amazing!

MUSIC DOCUMENTARY!

Rush-Beyond The Lighted Stage
-Very, very interesting stuff here, having watched it multiple, multiple times I can firmly say if you love Rush, you'll love this!

Dr.Feelgood-Oil City Confidential
-A very unique take on the Essex band, this is very flush indeed. Love them or hate them, you must be dead inside to not appreciate the film making skills here.

It Might Get Loud
-Jack White+The Edge+Jimmy Page+A big room+plenty of Guitar porn= A great watch!

Thank You For Letting Me Ramble In 2010. You've Been Golden.
