Please have a look at my serious 'journalistic' blog www.themusicblog2.blogspot.com
As it is now up, I would very much appreciate your time.
I apologize as their hasn't been an update recently but some very important news...
The Gryphon School B-Team played The Boys School B-Team, a real showcase of David V Goliath or more Local Ruffians V Tory scum. I'm only joking.
Well, by half time The Gryphon were 0-3 down, but came back to win 4-3 now that is a result if I've either seen one! After the Boys School had finished driving their Rolls Royce's, evading taxes and kissing Margret Thatcher's arse they shaked our hands and made me forget all the four-letter words circulating in what I like to call my brain.
You see they are human beings, no, really, they are genuinely nice! All hatred was washed away as I walked off that pitch and made me realize that they are good guys...
Only joking!

Rest In Peace Gary Moore.
It saddens me very much to say that Gary Moore has sadly left us.
Gary really was a great guitarist, from his work with Thin Lizzy and BB.King and countless others, he never ceased to amaze.
If un-familiar with Moore, his best work I believe to be on Gary Moore 'Still Got The Blues' and also Thin Lizzy's 'Black Rose'. Moore really knew how to play his guitar and I'm sure by his extensive back catalogue and live shows he has inspired a lot of people to play the guitar, and at least play it well. I am very fortunate to have seem him perform only last summer and I'm positive he will be sorely missed.
Thank You Gary Moore.

What Is New?
Well, as you may have noticed, blog posts haven't been as regular as previously, that is because.....well......I have no real explanation, so let me be the first to formally apologize to you ( the ol'faithful)
Here's a lowdown of what's new with Samuel Edward 'The Great' Hughes's world:
-My love/hate relationship for Jonny Morgan grows even stronger.
-I still HATE John Mayer.
-My hair is short.
-My application for Prime minister was turned down, again.
-The January sales have ended, I didn't buy anything.
-I now work at Oxfam.
-A badger stole my jeans and I had to attend Prom in a bin-liner.
-Southampton where on the television, twice.
-I payed off my debt for RUSH tickets.
-I discovered that Mike Skinner is a genius.
-My visa has run out and I promptly have to return to the Underworld, where my soul and mind will perish and burn under Satan's watchful eye.
-Keith Richards still cannot be killed by conventional weapons. Well done.
-Flange is a really funny word.
-I turned a couple of people on (but a lot of people off ) to Frank Zappa.
-I was viciously attacked by a hedge.
-Apparently people frown upon me changing my name to Moon Unit.
-Thornford is still the mecca for all things God-like.

Don Van Vliet January 15, 1941 – December 17, 2010
One of the true music purveyors of the 20th Century, has been lost.
Don Van Vliet ( a.k.a Captain Beefheart) was a true inspiration for me, pushing boundaries completely in music's possibilities. With Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band, there debut 'Safe As Milk' blended Jazz, blues, rock, psychedelia and anything else you can think of. however in 1969 made one of the best and unique albums ever; 'Trout Mask Replica'.
He will be sorely missed as much as his work with Frank Zappa, his own but also missed as a pioneer in contemporary music.
Rest In peace.
