HIGH VOLTAGE FESTIVAL 2010
Sadly, I could only make it to the Saturday, never the less- here is my official lowdown:
Black Spiders-
I was not familiar with them, however I thought the energy was great and also muscianship. Although, the whole "Fuck You" thing was a bit silly. The security guy in front of me laughed with despair. Apart from that:Teriffic!

Focus-
WOW! What can I say, it was just excellent. A really tight band, I was just in awe of the guitar playing. This was a real treat for me and I'm sure many others. Although some of them may be getting on a bit, that shouldn't mean anything with this level of playing.

The Answer-
Just a great band playing Rock N Roll how it should be. I really thought they delivered and being a fan for a while I was impressed. I like the little DIO tribute slotted in.

Gary More-
The only slight dissapointment. I'm more familiar with his blues stuff, but was looking forward to a set I wouldn't be familiar with. Although, it seems as If he has put on even more weight and the sound was just not very good at all. On the other hand it's GARY MOORE!

Zappa Plays Zappa-
Possibly the best act I've seen. I left Moore early to get really close to this and I was not dissapointed. The level of skill in that band is way so so high! The humourous and serious lyrics had me begging for more. R.I.P Frank, I'm sure you would be proud.
(Picture not from HV, but hey ho)
Heaven & Hell-
Very moving and very good, all these complaints I've seen, I disagree they all looked like they were having a great time but still maintaining that respect for RJD. Apart from the idiot who pushed me out the way it was great. Everyone singing "Heaven & Hell" was very special. Other higlights for me were 'I' 'Children Of THe Sea' a moving 'Die Young' and a brilliant encore of 'Neon Nights'

ZZ Top-
Awesome, it really was. Very funny and very good. Everything was a highlight here! Jimmy Page who was at the side of the stage looked like he was enoying it!

Other:
I caught a tiny glimpse of Asia and Foreigner who were both really good and all on top form. Of course this is afestival and £16 to feed two with a very small meal? No thanks.
Well done High Voltage. I'll see you next year!
